Discount Tire

Discount Tires was super helpful! Even when I didn't buy tires from them. You should DEFINITELY go here for all your tire needs. And here's the reason why: I recently bought tires from a competitor to Discount Tire...and when I returned to the competitor to have them fix a tire pressure monitoring system issue, they wouldn't help! (Literally the reason was "We close in 5 minutes, I can't help you with this.) So I drove to Discount Tire and asked if they would be willing to help. One employee (Jacob) at the E. Wash location in Madison stepped up and took care of everything I needed. He checked my tire pressure and also showed me how to calibrate my tire pressure monitoring system. Honestly, I didn't really expect this type of service since I didn't buy my new tires from them (I even explained that.) But Jacob stepped up to the plate and said, "Nope. I'm here to help." I wasn't a customer before, but now I am. THIS is the type of service we need more of! Bravo to Discount Tire and Jacob!....and too bad for their competitor next door since they just lost a customer.

MADISON, WI - We were on a roadtrip a thousand miles from home towing our 30' travel trailer. During a gas stop en route our destination of Montello, WI, I noticed that the tread on one of the trailer tires was separating. We swapped that tire out with our spare and continued on our way. Right after reaching our destination, a second original tire blew - in our campsite, thankfully not on the road! The small town we were visiting sold us 4 new trailer tires, but we could only swap out one, as we were completely set up for camping, and they would be closed the next day. Triple-A came to our campsite and replaced the flat with the newly mounted tire. We departed early Monday morning and drove one hour south to the Discount Tire shop at 3739 E. Washington Ave. Madison, WI. We were still on the spare and one new tire hoping the two other tires would hold out. They did. I had no appointment, so expected to wait a couple hours. I waited in line less than 5 minutes, and was ecstatic when a great technician had mounted my 3 new tires, installed them and put my spare back onto the rack in UNDER 45 MINUTES! We were back on the road SAFELY in less than an hour! DISCOUNT TIRE NEVER DISAPPOINTS

Great experience here — I would 100% recommend this place if you’re looking to get a new set of tires installed. The team was quick, friendly, and had everything done the same day in under two hours. Peyton at the front desk was especially awesome — very kind, professional, and helpful throughout the whole process. He worked with me to get the best deal possible and helped troubleshoot a few issues along the way. Overall, an amazing experience, and I’ll definitely be coming back the next time I need tires!

They are very eager to help, like all Discount Tire locations. But I would not recommend this location for RV tires. They told me their guns went to 1,000 ft lbs of torque, they even drove to a different store to get the biggest gun when theirs didn't work, but still weren’t able to remove my wheels that were torqued to 475 lbs. I even had to go next door to buy them the right sized socket at NAPA. When they broke their breaker bar in half, that was the end of trying. 4 hours later, a dent on my bin door from their breaker bar and a trip across town to their competitor, my tires were finally on.

Great experience with this shop. The guys were very respectful and efficient. Had to get a little more accomplished than planned (darn lug nuts) but the reasoning was explained very well so I didn’t mind the added cost. I was in town for a concert and had experienced a busted tire upon arriving to Madison, so being able to get in so quickly the next day was a relief. Definitely would recommend this shop if needed.
